Eaarth: Making a Life on a Tough New Planet Best Quality

I know that hyperbolic statements are, well, just that: hyperbolic; but, all the same, (excuse the cliche) if you read one book this year: read "Eaarth" by Bill McKibben. Right from the start, McKibben hits hard with the assertion that Earth as we know it no longer exists in the state that humanity has been accustomed to and in all likelihood, there's no going back. We've surpassed "safe" levels of CO2 in our atmosphere, and McKibben presents a good case for what he believes we'll have to do to survive on this tough new planet. As glaciers and icecaps melt, as the oceans heat, as shorelines move further inland, life as we know it must adapt if we want to survive. McKibben promotes local solutions, de-centralization as a solution, appealing to liberals and conservatives alike.

I really just couldn't put this book down. Over the course of 3 days I burned through it, with each page making me want to just... to just do SOMETHING to help. I strongly recommend this book.Get more detail about Eaarth: Making a Life on a Tough New Planet.
